Crichfield students and families worked hard on collecting Pop Tabs. We collected over 50 gallons of pop tabs. We worked in coordination with Handley Elementary School. This service project showed that “Little things CAN make a big difference!” The pop tabs were given to the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago. The money raised from the pop tabs supports the mission of RMH charities to care for families of children with complex medical needs by providing comfort, compassion and a sense of community.  Our service project supported this mission.

When dropping off and picking up students, please be aware that children are present. It is critical that cars entering and exiting the parking lot drive slowly and cautiously. Pedestrians and busses have the right-of way to ensure student safety.

All students are assigned a bus from school.

If your student will not be riding the bus, you MUST contact the school to let us know your student's dismissal plan.  If we do not have this information, your student will be put on the bus.  Please be sure to complete the Transportation Form that will comehome with your student on 8/20.

Mornings can be really crazy – the alarm doesn’t go off – the kids don’t want to get up – there’s no time to eat breakfast before the bus comes – or they’re just not ready to eat. Or maybe your teenager grabs a can of soda and a candy bar on the way to school. If this sounds like your house, we have good news for you.

Breakfast is served at school! School breakfast will give your child a healthy start to the day. A nutritious breakfast helps students be more alert so they can learn more in class. Breakfast has vitamins and nutrients for a strong and healthy body.

Breakfast at school is affordable, too. If you qualify for free and reduced priced meals, you also qualify for the breakfast program, with no additional paperwork. You can’t find a healthy breakfast at such a low cost anywhere else.

Help your child start the day right with school breakfast!!

We receive several calls during the day from parents who ask "did you just call me?".  Please check your voicemail before calling the school.  Most often it is your child wanting something or to ask you a question.  If anyone from the office calls you, they will leave a message.  Thank you for your compliance.

The Wellness Committee met on April 27, 2011, and formulated a policy addressing treats for classroom celebrations. The policy simply states:

“For the safety of all children, all treats furnished for students, including birthday treats, must be commercially purchased. These treats should be kept simple and in a form that is easy to pass out to students in the class.”

For the safety of our students,  no arrival or dismissal changes will be allowed unless the office has received direct contact from the parent or guardian.  Thank you for your cooperation.
