Fun Night Criteria

Dear Students and Parents,

This letter is to inform you about behavior and academic assignment expectations at Kesling Middle School for attendance at Fun Nights. It is our philosophy at Kesling Middle School for students to be allowed to attend a Fun Night, a student must exhibit excellent behavior and be in good academic standing while attending school. Therefore, we have established the following criteria to determine eligibility for attendance at Fun Nights:

  • No more than one placement in ISS (In-School Suspension)
  • No full day placements in ISS (In-School Suspension)
  • No more than one teacher detention
  • No Project Extended Day Placement
  • No OSS (Out-of-School Suspensions) placements
  • No Social Probation (Behavior) from Fun Night
  • No more than one bus suspension
  • No placements into Extended After School Detention

During the week of a Fun Night, ineligible students will be notified by note through the Principal's Office stating that they cannot attend. If a student chooses to ignore this note and attend the Fun Night, the student’s parents will then be called to pick up their child at Kesling. Furthermore, the student will face further disciplinary action at school. Our first Fun Night is scheduled for Friday, September 15, 2017 from 2:45-4:45 P.M.; we will be monitoring behavior and academic progress for students from the beginning of the year until that first fun night. Students who will not be allowed to attend the first Fun Night may be allowed to attend the next Fun Night if they meet the behavioral and academic criteria to attend during the second monitored period. The next period of time that student’s behavior and academic expectations will be monitored for participation at Fun Nights will be from September 18, 2017 to October 27, 2017. This monitoring system (Fun Night to Fun Night) pertains to all following Fun Nights. If you have questions, please contact the principal’s office (362-7507).
