Health & PE Teachers

Mrs. Diane Blakemore

Years of teaching at LPHS: 30

Hobbies/Interests: Sports, flower arrangements, reading, cooking, and dance choreography.

Mrs. Blakemore enjoys the staff, students, and self-fulfillment she receives from teaching at LPHS

Her most memorable moment at LPHS was winning the track sectional championship

"I love teaching and I hope when I retire, I've touched someone's life."

Mr. John Eason

Years of teaching at LPHS: 7

He has also taught at Amon Carter-Riverside HS in Fort Worth, TX for eight years.

Hobbies/Interests: golf, hockey, softball, tennis, and spending time with his family

Mr. Eason believes LPHS provides many opportunities for the students to succeed.

He attended Texas A&M University receiving a B.S. in Physical Education

Mr. Bill Gangwer

Years of teaching at LPHS: 22

He has also taught seven years at Boston Middle School

Hobbies/Interests: golf, gardening, coaching Varsity Boys Soccer at LPHS

Mr. Gangwer loves to teach at LPHS because he gets to "play" and make a living doing it

His most memorable moment was walking through the doors of LPHS his first day teaching, coming back to the place he attended high school. Having both children in High School together with him, and coaching  Michael (son) for Varsity Soccer.

He received his degree at Tri-State University then received his graduate degree from Ball State University.

Currently teaching Health education and served as a Dept. Chair for 5 years.  He also coached girls cross country for 12 years and girls track for 20 years.  Mr. Gangwer coached  boys soccer for 10 years and Jr. High boys track at Boston, for 3 years. This is his first year coaching girls soccer.

Mr. Louis Kuzdas

Years of teaching at LPHS: 14

Hobbies/Interests: All sports (especially wrestling and football) and outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and camping

Mr. Kuzdas believes LPHS is a great school to teach at, the faculty is wonderful, and the facilities are superior

His most memorable moment was when the wrestling team finished third in the state

Mr. Kuzdas graduated from LPHS then received his B.S. at Valparaiso University and now has his Master's degree in Secondary Education at Indiana University South Bend

Mr. Bob Shellinger

Years of teaching at LPHS: 14

Mr. Schellinger also taught and coached at South Central High School for 17 years.  "LPHS is a great place for students to learn and experience many different activities.  The administration, faculty, and staff are wonderful people, who are welling to help students reach their goals."

Hobbies/Interests: golf, sporting events, referee basketball games, and umpire baseball games.  Mr. Schellinger is the varsity football coach for LPHS.

His most memorable moment at LPHS was defeating Hobart High School in football for the first time since 1946. Winning Conference 2003.

Mr. Tom Wells

Years of teaching at LPHS: 4

He loves  the community involvement and support for the high school athletics. He believes that the high school is a " focal point for the community," which, he continues," is hard to find."

Hobbies/Interests: He enjoys playing golf and spending time with his kids and family.

His most memorable moment would have to be winning the DAC in 2003 at Chesterton, and winning the 2004 Basketball sectional.
