We are super excited to get started this year as we are getting set up for students in the new building.  There will be many changes that will require us to be flexible in the beginning of the year as the construction process will continue.  In addition to the obvious changes of a new building, we are welcoming Mr. Braden to our Handley family.  He will serve as an assistant principal at Handley.  We are very excited to have him as part of our team, and he is anxious to meet all of the students, parents, and staff.  Please see boxes below for information regarding NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION, SUPPLY LISTS, and ROCK THE BLOCK.  We look forward to beginning the school year and learning and growing together.

We are planning on posting class lists at the 13th Street entrance on Monday, August 6, at 9:00 a.m.  If, for some reason, the area is blocked off, please do not enter.  You may call the school, and we will tell you your child's teacher.  Thank you and enjoy the rest of summer break.

Any student that will be NEW to Handley School should come to or call the school.  We want to make sure that all students have been assigned to a class and are ready to make the 2018-19 school year a great one!   Please use the 13th Street entrance.

***Please note that this OPEN HOUSE is for current Handley students and parents/guardians only.  An Open House for the community to tour the building will be provided at a later date.

WELCOME TO THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR.  We hope you are able to join us for the 2018-19 Handley School Open House on Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 4:30-6:00. Teachers and staff will be available to give you a tour of the classroom. Community members will have informational tables set up in the cafeteria. Our Handley PTO will be providing information about ways to get involved with the school as well as sharing a treat with those that visit their informational table in the cafeteria. It is important that we work together to support your child. Each teacher will have a grade level theme.  Our school theme is A MILLION DREAMS as it represents our "dream" for each and every member of the Handley team. (Check out the song on you tube from the Greatest Showman on Earth.) We are excited to welcome you back to a new school year, and we look forward to working with you and your child. Let's have a great 2018-19 school year!

Get ready to ROCK THE BLOCK!  It is a great way to have a Back to School celebration as an entire school corporation.  There will be free school supplies, bags, live music, food, haircuts, dental examinations, immunizations, clothing, tech gadgets and more.  Be sure to come participate in the games and free drawings.  All LPCSC students preK-12 are invited.  We strongly suggest preregistering.  See the attached flyer and come join the fun.

The Wellness Committee met on April 27, 2011, and formulated a policy addressing treats for classroom celebrations. The policy states:

“For the safety of all children, all treats furnished for students, including birthday treats, must be commercially purchased. These treats should be kept simple and in a form that is easy to pass out to students in the class.”
