We have an exciting update to share about before- and after-school care for the 2026–2027 school year.

La Porte Community School Corporation has partnered with the La Porte County Family YMCA to transition the operation of our before- and after-school care program to the YMCA beginning this fall. The program will continue to operate with the same focus on providing a safe, structured, and supportive environment for students, and our goal is for this transition to feel seamless for families.

Here is what you can expect:

• The program continues. Before- and after-school care will remain available for LPCSC families beginning August 14, the first day of school.
• Costs will be kept comparable. The YMCA is committed to maintaining affordable pricing for participating families.
• Current families are prioritized. If your child is currently enrolled, you will have priority access when registration opens.
• More to come. The YMCA's experience in youth development programming is expected to bring expanded offerings and improved staffing reliability over time.

Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year is expected to open in early May 2026. Additional details, including program information, schedules, and registration instructions, will be shared here and through ParentSquare as they become available.
