Welcome to La Porte Community School Corporation! Thank you for considering us as your choice in meeting the educational needs of your child. Below you will find the information you need to successfully complete the enrollment process.

Open Enrollment for Out-of-District Families

Open Enrollment for Out-of-District Families is Now Open

Families living outside LPCSC district boundaries may apply to enroll their student(s) for the 2026-2027 school year beginning April 1, 2026.

To apply, complete the online application. Completed applications are automatically submitted to the Superintendent’s Office for review.

What to Know

  • All requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account current class sizes and building capacity.
  • Not all applications may be approved.
  • If approved, families are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from school for the duration of the school year.
  • The Superintendent’s Office will notify families of their determination.

Intra-District Transfers

Elementary students living within LPCSC boundaries who wish to attend a K-4 school other than their assigned school may request an intra-district transfer. Requests are reviewed on a rolling basis, subject to available space. The superintendent and principal review all requests based on available space and academic, safety, and/or family considerations.

If your student is already attending their requested school during 2025-2026, you do not need to submit a new request. Current approvals remain in effect.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration is still open. Call or stop by the office at your elementary school. If you are unsure which school your child should attend, contact the LPCSC Transportation Office at (219) 362-1023.

Required Documents

  • Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Records
  • Proof of Residency (one of the following):
    • Utility Bill
    • Mortgage Statement
    • Lease Agreement

Eligibility

  • Students must enroll at the elementary school within their attendance area. Families who wish to attend a different LPCSC elementary school may request an intra-district transfer.
  • Students must be five (5) years old on or before August 1, 2026.

Early Kindergarten Admittance

If your child will turn five between August 2 and August 31, they may be eligible for early admittance. Parents should complete the Early KG Admittance Application. Our Director of Early Childhood will contact you to schedule a readiness screening before August 1. The screening assesses developmental levels and readiness for early learning standards.

Preschool registration is still open. Please call or stop by the front office at the Little Learners Early Childhood Center. Please review this document for program details.

RETURNING STUDENTS

Online registration for all returning students will open around August 1, 2026. You will receive a communication prompting you to complete your Student Information Update for the 2026-2027 school year.

What You Will Need to Do

  • Log in to your Skyward Family Access Portal.
  • Verify student information and emergency contacts.
  • Complete all required forms for the upcoming school year.

Completing these steps ensures all future communications are delivered accurately. If you have a change of address or other demographic updates, please visit your school building with the appropriate paperwork.
