Welcome to ParentSquare

Connection

ParentSquare is our communication platform that connects families and staff through phone, text, email, and the ParentSquare app.

You'll receive important district and school messages about emergencies, closures, news, and other updates—all in one convenient place.

Activate

If you haven't activated your ParentSquare account, you will receive an email or text invitation with a link to join. If you missed the invitation, follow the Registration instructions below:

To register for ParentSquare, follow this link: https://www.parentsquare.com/signin. Under Register, use the email address or phone number associated with your Family Access Account in Skyward. The prompts will guide you through the registration steps.

Preferences

When we send messages, ParentSquare delivers them through text, email, and the app. You can set your preferences to receive messages instantly or as a daily digest, which means all of your messages in one communication at the end of the day.

For urgent alerts (like emergencies or school closures), the district will override these settings to ensure you receive critical information immediately.

Important: Keep SCHOOL ALERTS enabled to receive emergency notifications.

ParentSquare App

Your ParentSquare account is automatically created using the contact information we have on file in Skyward. To activate your account, use the same phone number or email address you provided to the school.

While the ParentSquare app isn't required, we encourage you to download it for convenient access to messages on your phone.

La Porte Community Alerts

With the addition of ParentSquare, we will use our new communication platform to announce delays and cancellations. The best way to stay informed is to ensure your information is up to date in Skyward.

For grandparents, babysitters, or community members who are not in Skyward but need to be aware of weather-related delays or cancellations, please sign up for La Porte Community Alerts.

What Is StudentSquare?

StudentSquare is the student version of ParentSquare. It gives students in grades 5 through 12 a safe, school-connected way to stay in touch with their families during the school day, which is especially helpful now that personal phones are secured in Yondr pouches from bell to bell.

Students use StudentSquare on their district Chromebooks. Through it, your child can message you using your existing ParentSquare account, and you can message your child in return. Because your child signs in with their school account, these conversations stay within the district's communication platform rather than on a personal phone or a personal email account.

How Students Sign In

Your child signs in at mystudentsquare.com/signin, chooses "Sign in with Google," and uses the same school credentials they use to log in to their Chromebook. There is no separate password to remember and nothing new to download. Once in their account, they can verify their email address to ensure consistent communication. Students do not need to have a phone number, but those with a cell phone can also download the StudentSquare app and log in the same way (with their Google school credentials).

What Students Can Do

Through StudentSquare, students take part in Family Messaging with their parents and guardians. This is meant for routine, non-urgent notes, such as a change in pickup plans or an after-school reminder. Because students are learning on their Chromebooks throughout the day, your child may not see a message right away, so please expect a reply at an appropriate break in instruction. For anything urgent or time-sensitive, call your school's office and our staff will reach your child right away.

Students cannot email personal contacts from their Chromebooks, since district email is limited to school accounts for security. StudentSquare is the approved way for students to stay connected with family during the day.
