New Arrival & Dismissal times effective for the 2019-2020 school year.


8:25 a.m. Students having breakfast

8:35 a.m. General Admission (students wait in gym)

8:45 a.m. First bell rings

8:55 a.m. Second bell rings

Students arriving after 8:55 are considered tardy and must be brought to the office by a parent.


 No breakfast is served
 10:35  general admission (students wait in gym)
 10:45  1st bell rings
 10:55  2nd bell rings


All dismissal changes must be made by 2:30 p.m. 

3:20 p.m.

Pre-School Hours (please pick up promptly) 

A.M. = 8:45 - 11:15

P.M. = 12:45 - 3:15

New Student Preschool and Kindergarten Registration


Please have the following at time of registration:

√ Registration forms (Available in the office and in the link below.)

√ Birth Certificate 

√ Proof of Residency (copy of a NIPSCO bill, TV Service bill, Trash bill; no general mail will be accepted)

√ Current Immunization records


Important:  all paperwork listed above should be turned in at time of registration to ensure your student’s admission.


  • For Kindergarten, students must be 5 years old by August 1, 2019..
  • For Preschool, students must be 4 years old by August 1, 2019
  • Preschool is free for families who live within the La Porte Community School Corporation district.
  • Students should reside within the Kingsford Heights district.

Print this articleDismissal and Arrival at Kingsford Heights School
  • Breakfast: Doors open at 8:25.  For the safety of our students, please be patient and join the line of cars waiting to drop off at the breakfast doors. Students should arrive between 8:25 and 8:35.
  • Students are expected to be respectful to cafeteria staff and use manners in the cafeteria. Students are to stay seated until the bell rings, besides disposing of trash or trays.
  • Students who are not eating breakfast at school should not arrive before 8:45. The tardy bell does not ring until 8:55.
  • Students will dismiss at the 2nd bell, 3:20pm. Please stand away from doors when picking up your child to prevent injury.
  • At dismissal, please line up at parent pick up. Pull up to the curb to pick up your child.  Help keep all of our students safe by waiting in line patiently.
  • Please be mindful of our SAFETY CROSSING GUARDS. They have been trained in crossing safety.
  • Please remember to call the office at 393-3116 no later than 2:30 if you need to change your child’s dismissal plans.
