The South La Porte County Special Education Cooperative is hiring Paraprofessionals for the 2018-2019 school year. We provide services in La Porte, New Prairie, South Central, Westville, LaCrosse & Wanatah schools. Records Destruction 2017-18
If you received special education services or was tested for services but did not qualify from the South La Porte County Special Education Cooperative (La Porte, New Prairie, South Central, Westville, LaCrosse or Wanatah Schools) and you graduated or were exited from services at least three years prior to May 31, 2018, your records will be destroyed on or about July 1, 2018. If you wish to obtain your records you must submit your written request to South La Porte County Special Education Cooperative, 602 “F” Street, La Porte, IN 46350, attention Julie Klinedinst. The records will be released only to the former student, now of legal age, upon presentation of a photo ID. You must make your request for records by June 1, 2018, which provides the required notice to our office.

School Delay Information
In the event of a school delay, closing, early dismissal, or other school related emergency, you may sign up to receive a text message and/or email alert that will be sent as soon as one of these events is announced. Remember, if there is a 2 hour delay due to fog or snow, there will be no AM preschool in session that day. PM preschool will proceed at the normal time.
Compliance Issue Phone Line
A dedicated phone line is established at the Educational Services Center to accept calls from students and/or parents to address compliance issues by leaving their name, contact information, and description of the compliance issue on voicemail.
This phone line, 219-324-1380, will be monitored through the course of the workday by the Secretary for the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and any incoming calls received after normal office hours (7:30am - 4:00pm) will be reviewed each morning by the Human Resources office.
The Indiana Pesticide Review Board approved new regulations that impact school corporations. We are pleased to annouce that as a progressive school community, we have been following these safe practices for years. Pesticides are not applied during school hours and records of all pesticide applications are maintained in the Director of Facilities' office. However, if you wish to be notified when pesticides will be used, please request placement on the pesticide notification registry. You can do this by sending a written request to your school office or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. In most cases, individuals on this list will be notified 48 hours before the application of a pesticide.
