The Kesling Orange ‘B’ team also defeated the Kesling White team in two matches. Top server was Aubree Smith with 9 points. Emma Snyder also did a great job on her serves, scoring 8 points, while Jayda Moorman contributed 5 points. Other contributing players were Sierra Vorrier, Natalie Fritzen, and Kaitlyn Wiseman. The top servers for the white team were: Brianna Russell, who served for 6 points, Gabrielle Bair 4, and Mia Mendoza with 3. The top defensive player for the evening was Mia Mendoza with 14 assists.
A huge shout out to both the middle and high school equestrian teams for their 1st place finishes at their first show last Sunday! Great job!
Attention students: The annual non school sponsored 8th grade Washington D.C. Trip will be next June 12-18, 2019. Information is now available for the 8th grade "National Treasures Tour" to Washington D.C. Philadelphia & Gettysburg trip. Space is limited - sign up is first come, first serve. To get information and a trip application, go to www.gohoosiertravel.com The parent/student meetings will be held on Monday, October 1, 2019 and October 10, 2019 at 7:00pm at the Kesling Middle School auditorium. Please note: you only need to attend one of the two meetings. Mr. Samuelson at KMS and Mrs. DeWolf at BMS will be the sponsors for this annual trip. Pick up an information sheet in the principal's office about the trip and upcoming meetings!
8th grade girls field trip to the A.K. Smith Career Center - October 10, 2018. Hurry and sign up! The purpose of this field trip is to expose young ladies to many opportunities in the world of work that are traditionally considered "man's work." Speakers who have presented at past workshops include females who are employed in the following fields/occupations. Don't forget that we must have your application/permission slips signed and turned in at the Counselor's Office by Tuesday, October 2 in order to be considered for participation in our field trip to the A.K. Smith Career Center. No late applications will be accepted! If you need an application form, please visit the Counselor's Office.

Kesling won the 16 team Dunes middle school tournament Saturday wit ha 4-0 record. Scores were Winamac 25-5, 25-11; Northridge 25-21, 25-20; Grissom 25-19, 25-14; and New Prairie 25-20, 25-16 in the championship game. This avenged a loss to New Prairie on Thursday. Serving on the day were Diana Fields with 29 aces, Hannah Joseph and Geneva Zigler 9 each, Kaeden Bornell 8, and Alayna Tuholski 7. Fields had 20 kills, Joseph 16, Bornell 10, and Zigler 7.
Kesling parents - LaPorte High School has recently opened their new medical clinic. The Clinic offers all LaPorte students the opportunity to complete a timely, cost-effective sports physical for any students who have yet to complete one. The $30 dollar physical can be scheduled by calling 219-324-1377 to set up an appointment.

FUN NIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT!
Due to scheduling conflicts, the first Fun Night has been rescheduled to October 5th. Please remember to pick your students up at 4:45pm in the back (south side) of the building near doors 7 or 9. Fun Night admission is $4. There are games and food available for an additional fee. Reminder, there will NOT be a fun night on September 21st!
Please see Mrs. Scheck in the choir room if you would like information about show choir auditions. The auditions will take place in the mornings and afternoons of next week (the week of 9/17) and the week after (the week of 9/24). Results will be posted on Friday the 28th. Choir members can find information about the audition on canvas. If you are not in choir, Mrs. Scheck can let you know what to expect. You do not have to be in choir to try out, and all grades are welcome to audition.

State Mandated Curriculum Consent
Parents, on July 1, 2018, the state passed Senate Bill 65 which requires parent consent to curriculum addressing human sexuality. We have listed this information for you on Parent Access in Skyward. Please log into your Skyward account (contact the school if have not set up an account), go to Parent Access and follow the link on the home page of Parent Access indicating that there is a new form that needs to be completed. The form is available through the “Online Forms” tab on the left side of the Parent Access screen. If you have more than one child, a form must be completed and submitted for each child.
