LPCSC Feasibility Study
La Porte Community School Corporation needs you to “Click Away”.
The La Porte Community School Corporation is encouraging every staff member, student (grade 8-12), parent, and community member to complete our online feasibility study survey. This survey is accessible on the district web site at http://www.lpcsc.k12.in.us or by direct link at http://survey.lpcsc.k12.in.us/.
This first round of surveys focuses on facilities and will be available online from March 16 through March 30, 2015. Experts from Odle, McGuire, and Shook Architects will be analyzing the survey data for discussion at upcoming interviews and focus-area meetings. The end result of our feasibility study will be the identification of “feasible” plans that will guide us toward assuring that our students and staff are “Learning Today to Excel Tomorrow.”
Please help us secure a broad-based response by directing others to our web site to participate in this five-minute survey. Our students, staff, and community partners are excited about the feasibility study and the improvements that will benefit our schools and community. “Click Away” to see for yourself!

New Safety Protocol
ATTENTION RILEY VISITORS
New security protocol was put in place last school year. When visiting Riley, ALL visitors will need to check in at the main office.
1. You must have a current background check on file in office to be able to visit the classroom or eat lunch with your child.
2. A Visitor’s Badge will be issued to you. This badge must be visible at ALL times.
3. Upon leaving the building, return your visitor badge to the office.
We understand this will be more time consuming, however, the safety and security of our students, staff and visitors is our top priority. Thank you for your support of Riley Elementary School and all the schools of the La Porte Community School Corporation.
State Department of Education Report Card
Riley Elementary School received an A grade for the 2013-14 school year. This grade reflects Riley’s most recent academic performance. Indiana’s A through F grading system is designed to provide you a clear and concise assessment of how well your child’s school is doing.
Letter grades are calculated based on data collected throughout each school year. Indiana recently shifted to a more comprehensive way of measuring and reporting school performance, as required by state law. These grades take into account a variety of factors, namely student performance and student growth.
You can view the A through F school accountability report card for Riley Elementary School at the Indiana Department of Education’s COMPASS website at http://compass.doe.in.gov This report details all of the components that factored into Riley’s letter grade this year.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact the Riley office at 219-362-3235. Thank you for your continued support of your child’s education.
